About 25 years ago I was persuaded by the woman running a yarn store in Liverpool that I should buy dishcloth cotton rather than the expensive yarn I had my eye on (I was 13 – she thought she was being helpful). I bought it, but never knitted it up – my mother used it instead, and still wears her very nice dishcloth yarn cardigan. Don’t knock dishcloth cotton – it has it’s place!
