Quick update...
... the Kauni is now being swatched. Surely being swatched isn’t really the same as knitting, is it? I mean, it’s just part of that pre-knitting, ruminating stage, where you have to consider various possibilities before you get started – just think how frustrating it would be to finish a pair of socks, pick up the new yarn and then not be totally sure what to do with it – much, much better to start playing now…
Besides, it’s been a looooooooooong day – parents’ evening until 6:15, then home just in time to scoff dinner, do my bit of bathtime, then my tutee arrived for another hour of maths – a little gentle swatching would be medicinal really…

Nope, you definitely can’t risk finishing the socks and not having the kauni ready to start with straight away. Making a swatch is good! What’s it like to knit with? As nice as it looks?Daisy () (link) - 05 January '06 - 23:35
