Freebies

I’ve been doing a clearout – listed a whole pile of stuff on Freecycle, taken another large pile of stuff to the Oxfam clothing and book banks, finally posted off the baby sweaters (with a pile of other ones that Ruth has outgrown) to Feed the Children, (I really, really should have made the actual posting part of my Olympic Challenge, but I didn’t, so I’m keeping my medal, so there – interesting that when I phoned to check on which address I should send them to, the man on the other end had heard of the Knitting Olymics.) and I found a couple of things I don’t want, but someone reading this may fancy:

Item 1) Three copies of Needlewoman and Needlcraft – issues 53, 57 and 61. Published in the 1950s

These contain lots of embroidery transfers as well as some knitting patterns:

Also some other random floral embroidery transfers, together with handwritten notes.

Item 2) Patons – A Story of Handknitting by Michael Harvey.

If anyone is interested in either or both of these, just email me your snail mail address, and I will sift through the hundreds (hah!) of replies and send them to the most deserving (by my undisclosed criteria) case(s).

Ooh, I would really love to have the book with the Norwegian mittens in,
if possible, please! I’ve been lusting after a pattern for them ever
since I saw Marie’s! I’d be willing to pay postage of course.

I’d love to have a peek at the book! I can’t guarantee I’ll keep it forever, though. Hey, let’s take kids to a park on Thursday or Friday, knit and watch them frolic in the sunshine??

Hi Anne, just to let you know that I don’t need the pattern for the
Norwegian mittens after all. I got one through the post today! So, please
take me off the list and I hope that someone “more deserving” than me gets
it.

ohhhh, I am such a sucker for 50’s patterns, and those cardis and the norweigan mittens look lovely.
IF you still have the leaflets I’d love them.
BTW, fiunally last Friday I got off my tushy and mailed out all those little pkgs I’d mentioned, and I’m so
glad you sent me your address, ‘cause one is winging it’s way to you right now. I’ve been on a mission to
get some projects finished and am working to help a friend right now who does prom dress alterations, so it’s
been awhile since I’ve been blog surfing. Sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough go of it.
