Yup, I’ve been suckered by another of these things – maybe it’s appropriate that today, when the list of Ruths I love is shorter by one, that this comes up:
Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence |
![]() Every part of your life has a beat, and you’re often tapping your fingers or toes. You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time. You are probably a gifted musician of some sort – even if you haven’t realized it. Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds. You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer. |
I heard this morning that the Ruth I have known longest, my one-time piano teacher, died yesterday. She was very elderly and had been increasingly unhappy, lonely and confused in recent years. She and her husband were devoted to each other and she lost him several years ago to cancer. She truly was incomplete without him. So for me it’s sad, it’s the end of an era, but for her – well, I don’t really know whether or not I believe that she is with Stephen, but I’m sure she is no longer missing him.
(Incidentally I disagree with the quiz’s results – when I’ve put some practice in I’m a reasonably tolerable pianist, but I’m sooo much more a maths/sciency sort of person… )
Thanks to Carrie K for the link.

I hadn’t checked out the Mathematical Brige website! Pretty interesting stuff. I’d still tell people Isaac Newton designed it. Just because the man wasn’t around at the time…..it’s such a good connection. Facts, schmacts. How sad about Ruth. More about her final years than being finally done with this world.
Mine isn’t all that accurate either. It’s more what I wish I’d be.

My heartfelt sympathy. I lost my riding teacher (years ago now) who’d taught me to ride and I’d known for 12 years. I was devastated and still think of her now, but about all the fun we had and of everything she taught me, not just about horses, but about me. You were lucky to have each other in your lives. xLouise Victoria Evans () - 30 June '06 - 13:47

Thanks for all the hugs and sympathy – it’s really not a trauma, but it is the end of an era, so it felt worth noting.(And Donni – I’m going to do that meme… )
