How many?
I saw this on blueadt knits
Lots of fun – Anne is apparently statistically the 170th most common name, Adam is statistically the 143rd most common name (99.62% of people with Adam as their first name are male… ), Ruth is statistically the 50th most common name, and John is statistically the 2nd most common name. (I’d love to know how they rank non-statistically… ) But it appears that there is no-one who shares either our neighbour’s son’s first name, or his surname!

Out of the almost 4 million Marys, only 15 have my last name!Mary de B () (link) - 18 October '06 - 20:53
Oh, this was quite amusing. Louise isn’t as common as David, (my husband), out of 343,464, 484 have my last name, out of 3,553,128, 5,010 of him. Only Out of 5,999, 8 of Rhiannon and out of 4,500, 6 of Ciara. What was interesting was, considering how many ‘Irish’ there are in America, there were no Aedans or Conalls whatsoever, they are both Gaelic Irish names. You really need to know all that.

3 people share my Italian name and only 1 person shares my English name (sorry- that probably sounds pretentious). I had expected no-one to share either name, and esp. the Italian mess of a thing! I want to meet these Ruth D’Avanzos and Horsfields !Big Ruth () (link) - 19 October '06 - 17:51
I was the only one. Heck, there were only 390 people with my surname.Chris () (link) - 20 October '06 - 03:34
Hi Anne ~ oooh, there are 6 of me!! There isn’t anyone called Niamh though….must be unusual over the pond. There are 34,496 Caitlins though!!Denise () - 20 October '06 - 12:30
No one has my surname. (Nor in the London phone book either….)4500 have the name Fiona. I’d have thought it would be more.
But then, Americans always ask me how many ‘n’s it has, so perhaps it really is unusual.

There were 4 of me! Well, my name. If only there were 4 of me. Huh. I was expecting the first name to be fairly popular but I never run across my last name. Cool, Anne! That was fun.Carrie K () (link) - 21 October '06 - 00:57

There are no people who have my first name in the US, even if you spell it wrongly! However, this site also tells you that there are no Demi Moore’s in the US either, and I don’t believe it!Philippa () - 22 October '06 - 23:16
Apparently there are no Emma-Janes in the US …E-J () (link) - 27 October '06 - 21:55
