Did I run?
Yup.
(Oh, and is it wrong, when buying dpns from Texere, if some merino tops end up in your shopping basket too? – Dubious rationalisation – the needles were really cheap, and adding fibre didn’t increase the cost of postage, therefore making the needles even cheaper… )

It would have been silly NOT to buy the tops!Daisy () (link) - 06 August '07 - 10:49
That’s positively saintly compared to what I’d have done! And am seriously impressed by the running. How are sorehurtyshins?rosie () (link) - 06 August '07 - 21:12
I will be running again once my daughter is back in school. I have two minds about it. On the one hand, it feels good to exercise (not during, but after), it helps me keep my weight manageable, I like to feel strong, it gives me energy. On the other hand, running sucks.
Okay, let me rephrase. Running sucks for the first mile. After that, it gets easier. Then I actually don’t mind it, as long as I don’t push myself too hard. I have found that by running at a comfortable pace, I can go farther. Eventually, over weeks, my pace increases naturally, with no sucking of wind. Yay me.
If it makes you feel any better, my dad started running around age 50. The first time he went out, he made it 5 houses down the block. In a year he could run 5 miles.
Run your little heart out and enjoy the pounds falling off and the muscle tone building.(But make sure you have good sneakers. Trainers. Whatever. Good arch support helps with the shins.)
Go you.
